Coordinator

The origins of the University of Valladolid (UVa) date back to the 13th century (1241). Since then, this academic institution has grown and adapted to modern times to become one of the most important universities in Spain. Its activity is carried out in four campuses, located in Castilla y León: Palencia, Segovia, Soria and Valladolid. It offers a wide variety of degrees with programmes in the fields of Science, Humanities, Engineering and Architecture, Health Sciences and Social and Legal Sciences. In total, 68 bachelor’s degrees, 15 joint study programmes, 65 master’s degrees and 29 doctoral programmes are offered in its 26 centres, 59 Departments, 12 University Institutes and 4 Research and Technology Centres.

European Association of ERASMUS Coordinators (EAEC)

The European Association of ERASMUS Coordinators (EAEC), is a membership network, which currently has more than 140 members. It was founded in 2004 in Lodz, Poland, with an official kick off during the ERACON 2005 (ERASMUS Coordinators Conference and GO-Exchange Education Fair 2005) in Cyprus. Among others, EAEC aims to facilitate information exchange and collaboration among European ERASMUS+ Programme Coordinators, promote mobility within the EU and beyond, advocate for ERASMUS+ principles, enhance education standards, facilitate direct communication through seminars and conferences, submit project proposals for European Commission funding and collaborate on European-funded projects.

EKA University of Applied Sciences

EKA University of Applied Sciences (Ekonomikas un kultūras augstskola, EKA) is a private higher education institution that provides formal education programmes for learners in the form of in-class and distance learning. It was founded in 1998, and it is located in Riga, Latvia.

The strategic specialization of EKA is determined by an interdisciplinary approach to preparing specialists for business (which includes specialists in law) in the fields of information technology, culture, and art. As of 2025, EKA has approximately 1100 students that are studying at the college, bachelor’s, and master’s levels. Study programmes are implemented within five study fields: Economics, Management, Law, IT and Arts, of which the first two cover the largest number of students and lecturers.

University of Crete Department of Primary Education, eLearning Lab

University of Crete (UoC): The University of Crete (UoC) is a public, research-oriented institution with campuses in Heraklion and Rethymno. Established in 1973, it now comprises 16 departments across five schools (Philosophy, Education, Social, Economic & Political Sciences, Sciences & Engineering, and Medicine) and is affiliated with key research institutions such as Skinakas Observatory, the Natural History Museum, and the University General Hospital. With over 16,000 undergraduate and 2,500 postgraduate students, UoC is internationally recognized for its academic excellence, research collaborations, and strong participation in European mobility programs. The Department of Primary Education (DPE), with 35 years of operation, is ranked among the top departments at UoC, earning recognition as a Department of Excellence by the Hellenic Quality Assurance & Accreditation Agency (HQA). It is one of Greece’s leading education departments, comparable to international institutions in teaching quality and research activity. The DPE’s mission is to train highly qualified educators, integrating theoretical knowledge with practical experience to address modern educational challenges. Its curriculum covers a comprehensive range of education-related subjects, continuously updated to reflect scientific advancements. Additionally, the department supports postgraduate specialization and research programs, fosters strong ties with the educational community, and contributes to the professional development of educators. DPE faculty members are internationally recognized, with research published in prestigious journals. The department actively collaborates with national and international institutions, engages in European research programs, and participates in international conferences and summer schools.

e-Learning Lab (DPE, University of Crete): The e-Learning Lab was founded under the name “Laboratory for Advanced Learning Technologies in Lifelong and Distance Learning” within the Department of Primary Education (DPE), University of Crete (UoC). Since its establishment, it has made a significant contribution to the educational community by offering distance learning programs for teacher professional development, fostering lifelong education, and promoting the exchange of best practices in the pedagogical implementation of ICT. The Lab has developed and implemented over 10 online, blended, and face-to-face (F2F) courses for educators at all levels in Greece and abroad. These courses follow Distance and Adult Education Methodologies, focusing on the pedagogical utilization of Human-Centered AI, ICT, Creativity, Inclusion, and Culture. Since 2016, the Lab has also been offering a postgraduate program titled “Distance Education with the Use of ICT (eLearning),” with more than 200 graduates trained in synchronous and asynchronous distance learning. Participants design, develop, implement, and evaluate educational materials and courses across various educational and cultural fields. A key initiative of the e-Learning Lab is ODYSSEAS, a Collaborative School Distance Education Program on Internet Safety, integrating ICT and Creativity through video conferencing and Web 2.0 applications. The program fosters creativity and critical thinking skills among primary school pupils in Greece and Cyprus. Since 2000, over 3,500 pupils have participated, earning national and European distinctions. During the COVID-19 pandemic, the Lab played a crucial role in supporting teachers and parents. In 2020, it organized four free online training seminars, attended by more than 40,000 educators, and developed interactive educational materials, including: 1. School Distance Education (SDE) – Introduction & Practical Teaching Tips, 2. The Challenge of Distance Education for Schools, 3. Principles of Designing Educational Material: From Theory to Practice, 4. The New Role of Parents and Students.

The European Digital Learning Network ETS – DLEARN – is a no-profit association, based in Italy, that aims to embrace the challenges brought by the digital revolution in terms of digital skills mismatch, toward an inclusive digital society. DLEARN’s goals are characterized by 4 keywords: SHARE, CONNECT, MULTIPLY, and ENHANCE.

The network is made up of 31 different organizations from 21 EU countries, active in the field of education and digital learning at various levels. Among others, DLEARN members are: Associations, Educational Centres (adult education), Training Centres, ICT education services providers, ICT experts, NGOs, SMEs, Universities, Vocational Schools. DLEARN is a collector of practices and ideas, gathering diverse organizations in Europe to reflect, think and trigger new initiatives, toward the valorisation and the enhancement of digital learning.
