About the Project

“Inclusion is not a matter of political correctness. It is the key to growth.” – Jesse Jackson.

While the green economy expands across Europe, providing millions of job opportunities, Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) individuals remain underrepresented due to limited access to inclusive training and entrepreneurial resources.

Rationale

The GREENENTRE4DEAF project seeks to address these gaps by enabling both Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) students and professionals to learn green entrepreneurial skills using novel, appropriate, and inclusive methods. These DHH individuals are further supported through the introduction of the EU GREEN ENTREPRENEURIAL SIGN LANGUAGE Framework, immersive VR simulations, a mobile app that assists in the creation of green enterprises, and the establishment of GREEN ENTREPRENEURIAL LIVING HUBS. These hubs allow collaboration to help prepare these individuals for the labor market in a world where DHH people require modular education throughout their lives.

With the use of these products, tools, and co-designing methods, GREENENTRE4DEAF enables DHH learners to actively participate in complex conversations around the environment and entrepreneurship, fostering a more equitable society. Such innovations increase the participation of Higher Education Institutions in resolving issues and gaps in education and the labor market while addressing the priorities of the EU such as the Green Deal, Skills agenda, and disability strategy.

GREENENTRE4DEAF provides DHH learners the opportunity to become agents of change during an era where sustainable growth is needed across the world and everybody deserves to be included. The use of these tools really provides everybody with an opportunity to be considered and no one left behind in the move towards a climate neutral economy. This can only be achieved through the transnational collaboration of multiple EU countries.
